21.
Dancing Feet Music
Change at
signal from
running around to running on the spot very quickly then back again.
22.
Dead Donkey/ Sleeping Lions/ Soldiers (traditional)
All
players lie down on the
floor on their backs very, very still. Leader or selected player
attempts to
spot those players that make a movement. Those caught help watch for
those
moving.
Attempts
can also be made to
make players move or laugh by others pulling faces, telling jokes etc
but
players must not be touched. It's very hard to keep a straight face if
being
tickled!!
23.
Do the Opposite!
Have a
list of things for
the players to do, e.g. walk, run, sit
down, hop on left foot, wave right hand, be quiet, be noisy, stand
still, jump
up and down, scream, dance, etc. The game is to do the exact opposite
to what
you are saying. Gradually remove all those players who get it wrong;
the last
player remaining is the winner
24.
Do This, Do That!
This is
played in the same
way as Simon Says except that the leader precedes his or her orders
with either
“Do this” or “Do that”. If the command is “Do this'” then all the
players
should copy his or her actions. If it is “Do that”, then they should
remain
still.
25.
Ducks and Cows
This is a
great way to
divide a group of kids into two teams. Players close their eyes while
one
person goes about tapping them on their shoulders and designating them
either
"duck" or "cow." On a given signal the players must make their
animal sounds to gather into their two teams. The ducks "quack" and
the cows "moo.
27.
Eat the Fishtail
Have the
Players line up in
single file, holding each other around the waist. The first player is
the fish
head; the last player, the tail. On signal, the head tries to catch the
tail
while the tail tries to avoid being caught. All must continue to hold
on to
each other. The longer the fish, the better.
28.
Elves, Wizards and Giants
"Elves,
Wizards and
Giants." is a team version of the old game of `Scissors-Paper-Stone’,
but
has funnier actions and noises that each team has to act out. Each
character
(Elf, Wizard, Giant) has a specific action or noise.
Elf-
Squatting down and
imitate pointed ears by holding two fingers up by your ears (similar to
making
bunny ears). Make "Eeeking" noises while doing this.
Giant-
Standing on tip toe,
arms raised in frightening posture making growling / roaring sounds.
Wizard-
Standing normally
but with arms outstretched as if casting a spell. Make appropriate
spell-casting noises.
As with
Scissors-Paper-Stone
each character/icon can win against one character or loose against the
other.
In this case if wanted teams can make the appropriate actions for
winning or
losing.
Elves
shoot Wizards: Elves
win. Elves pretend to shoot an arrow, Wizards make dramatic gestures as
though
struck in the heart.
Wizards
frazzle Giants:
Wizards win. Giants pretend to shrink.
Giants
squash Elves: Giants
win. Giants pretend they are squishing something small.
Each team
finds a quiet
corner and decides on a character to be as a team, after choosing their
character each team stands facing each other with hands behind
their
backs. On the count of three the whole team acts out their character
with the
points going to the team that chooses the winning character. If both
teams pick
the same character there is a draw.
29. Encore
Divide
into teams. The game
leader yells out a word that is commonly found in songs (love, road,
river,
girl, baby, need . . .). The teams must sing a song in unison
(together) using
that word. The first team to do it wins a point. Play as long as they
like it.
30. Excuse Me, What Are You
Doing?
To play,
you pretend to do
an action like washing your hair or drinking tea.
The person next to you then asks, "Excuse me, what are you doing?"
You have to say something other than what you are really doing.
So if you were pretending to brush your teeth, you could say "I'm
eating
pizza."
Then that person has to pretend that he's eating pizza and say
something
different when the next person asks him, "Excuse me, what are you
doing?"
If a player makes a mistake, he's out. Try to keep it going around the
