Moogie's Book of 130+ Circle
Games
|
Circle is formed,
players joining hands. Player 'It"
in center of circle attempts to climb over or under clasped hands of
those
forming circle
12.
Beast, Bird, Or Fish
The players stand or
are seated, preferably in a circle. One player stands or sits in the
center
with a nerf ball. This is thrown at one of the players by the one in
the
center, who quickly says, “Beast, bird, or fish!” then repeats one of
these
classes and immediately counts ten, whereupon the player who has been
hit by
the ball must name some beast, bird, or fish, according to the category
last
named by the thrower. This must be done before the latter has finished
counting
ten. For instance, the thrower will say as he throws,” Beast, bird, or
fish!
Bird! “ whereupon the player hit must name a bird while the thrower
counts ten.
This must not be a repetition of any bird previously named in the game.
Should
the player who is hit fail to meet the requirements, they change places
with
the thrower. Should they succeed, the thrower repeats the game by
hitting some
other player.
13.
Bird Or Animal
A player imitates the
sound of a bird or animal and the players, standing in a circle, try to
guess
what the sound is. The player who guesses correctly is given the chance
to make
the next bird or animal sound.
14.
Birds Fly
The leader tells the
players to flap their arms up and down when he names something that
flies. When
he mentions something that doesn't fly, they must hold still. Those who
make a
mistake must drop out. To confuse things, the leader flaps his arms at
every
command. The commands should be given in quick succession, e.g. ducks
fly,
geese fly, pigs fly.
15.
Birthday Dinner
Players sit in a
circle. The first player starts by saying, "At my birthday dinner I
like
to eat hamburgers". The next player must repeat "At my birthday
dinner I like to eat hamburger..." and add another dish. This continues
all the way around the circle with each player reciting the dishes in
the exact
order they have been given and then adding a new one. If a player makes
a
mistake they slide out of the circle and the game continues. The person
left
who can perfectly recite the birthday dinner menu wins.
16.
Bow Wow
One player is
"It" and all the others stand in a circle, about an arm's length
apart.
"It" runs around the outside of the circle, taps one of the players,
and keeps running. The tapped player runs around the outside of the
circle, in
the opposite direction from "It."
When "It" and the tapped player meet each other running, they must
get down on all fours and bark, "Bow Wow," three times. Then they
each must get up quickly and continue running around the circle in the
same
direction as before. The first one to reach the empty space in the
circle gets
the place. The one left out becomes "It" in the next round.
17.
Brothers
Divide the Players
into groups. Group A forms the inner circle facing outward and group b
the
outer circle facing inward. Have the players facing each other hold
hands to
pair off like 'brothers!' They drop hands and on signal, the circles
march in
opposite directions. When you shout 'BROTHERS!', the pairs find each
other,
link arms together backwards, and sit down. The last pair to sit down
drops out
of the game. Continue until two brothers are left.
18.
Bumble Bee
Contest
Who can buzz longest
without taking a breath? Start the contestants together. The last one
still
buzzing wins. You can make it harder by adding things to do like flap
your wings,
wiggle your stinger and do a pollen dance.
19.
Bumps Music
Prep &
Props: whistle or music
On the blow of the
whistle or stopping of music the last person to sit on the floor is out.
20.
Catch the Balloon
Prep &
Props: 3 or 4 inflated balloons
Arrange the players
in a circle on the floor and have them number off. Put the highest
number in
the centre to act as 'it'. He should hold a balloon and suddenly drop
it as he
calls out a number. The holder of that number then should try to catch
the
balloon before it touches the floor. If he succeeds, 'it' tries another
number.
If he fails, he becomes 'it'.
