1.   Above and Below

Prep & Props: Create list of items found above and below ground.

Players stand in a circle. Leader calls out names on things that are

Found above the ground or below.  When you call something that is above ground, the players stand; if below, they sit down. Failure to do this eliminates the players who miss.  (For example, Leader calls out ‘strawberries’, players stand. Leader calls out ‘yams’, players sit). The list of things to be named should be worked out in advance to keep the game going smoothly.

2.   Act out the alphabet

3.     Assume the ZOOM

Have players form a circle. Players must get in the zoom position (leaning into the circle, one foot in front of the other, both hands on the front knee) - "assume the zoom." Begin by passing the word "zoom" around the circle (verbally). You can't "pass" the "zoom" until you've received "it." Record the time it takes to get the word all the way around the circle. Ask for suggestions on how to improve your time. Try to beat your previous time. Incorporate any reasonable suggestions.

4.     Bawl Game

Player who makes the most noise for a given period of time wins.

5.     Ball Tag

"It" must touch the other player by throwing a ball. "It" must pick up the ball himself after it has been thrown.

6.     Ball of String Relay

Prep & Props:  Ball of string for each team
The players should be in two teams standing in two circles with a ball of string. The captain holds one end, while the ball is passed rapidly from hand to hand until it is unwound. It is then passed back and rewound.

7.     Ball race

Prep & Props:  ball(s)

Players stand in a circle facing each other about 1-2 feet apart.

A player on one side takes the larger ball, while a player on the opposite side starts with the smaller ball.

At the same time, the players start to pass the balls to the player on their left as fast as possible.

The players must try to make one ball catch up with the other ball.

If a ball is dropped, play starts from the beginning.

For larger groups use more balls, and every time a ball catches up with another use one less ball.

8.     Ball Tag

Prep & Props:  indoor baseball, volleyball, soccer or medicine bail

The circle of players is formed, "It" in the center.  Players in the circle pass the ball round in any direction, preventing "It" from tagging the ball.  If ball is tagged, last player to touch same is "It" and goes in center of circle.

9.     Balloon Bounce

Prep & Props: inflated balloons

Have a contest to see who can keep the balloon in the air the longest using only their head. The person who can keep it in the air longest without using anything but their head is the winner. (This game can also be played in teams).

10.                        Balloon Battle Royal

Prep & Props:  A supply of balloons; string

Arrange all the players in a large circle or scattered around the room, each with a balloon hanging from a string tied to his waist. On signal, have each player try to break all of the other balloons. When his is broken, he leaves the game. The game continues until only one player is left.

Variation: Give each Player a new balloon if he correctly answers a riddle.
