21.
Bat the Balloon
Prep &
Props: Inflated balloons.
Teams line
up with members
standing side by side, separated by the distance obtained when players
stretch
their arms sideways. Fingertips should touch between players.
The first
player in line
takes an inflated balloon, and bats it towards the second person in
line, who
bats it to the third person, on down the line and back again.
The only
rule is this: once
the players have taken their stance, they may not move their feet. If a
balloon
falls to the floor, or if someone moves his feet in an attempt to reach
the
balloon, the first person in line must run and get the balloon, and
take it
back to the starting line to begin again.
Variation:
add more than one
balloon per line, going in both directions
22. Bean Bag Relays.
Prep &
Props: beanbag for each player
Walk/run/hop with bag on head/between knees/between feet.
Variation:
Use inflated
balloons in place of beanbags.
23.
Bed-Sheet Ping-Pong
Prep &
Props: Bed sheet, ping-pong ball.
Players
stand and hold a bed
sheet on opposite ends. A ping pong ball is placed onto the sheet. The
sheet is
then raised or lowered. The object of the game is to get the ping-pong
ball to
fall off the other team's side.
Variation:
Can be played
with a parachute instead of a bed sheet and/or a balloon instead of the
ping-pong ball
24.
Blown-Up Fortunes
Prep &
Props: A balloon for each player, and
quite a few
extras to substitute for the ones that break ahead of time; a fortune,
written
on a slip of paper, for each player.
Push a fortune into each balloon;
Blow up the balloons and tie their mouths
The
fortunes may be funny or
serious or silly - anything you think will add to the fun of the party.
Here
are a few suggestions:
You will marry a robot and have 14 children.
You will be a prisoner in the zoo.
You will get a pleasant surprise before the day is out.
If you don't stop eating so much cake, you'll get fat.
Watch out for clones.
You get the idea. When everyone has arrived, throw the balloons up in
the air
and let the players catch them. After they have each captured a
balloon, tell
them to burst the balloon if they want to find out their fortunes. The
party
begins with a BANG.
25.
Buzz Bomb Balloons
Prep &
Props: 1
uninflated balloon per Player, write the players name on the balloon
with a
dry-erase marker, target.
Have
everyone inflate a
balloon and release it in the direction of a target on the floor.
Winner is the
closest balloon to the target.
26.
Catch the Balloons.
Prep &
Props: 3 or 4 inflated balloons
Arrange
the players in a
circle on the floor and number them Put the highest number in the
center to act
as 'it'. He should hold a balloon and suddenly drop it as he calls out
a
number. The holder of that number then should try to catch the balloon
before
it touches the floor. If he succeeds, 'it' tries another number. If he
fails,
he becomes 'it'
27.
Center Catch
Prep &
Props: ball or balloon
Players
form a circle with
arm's-length spacing. "It" stands inside the circle. The players pass
a basketball, play ball or football from one to the other. "It"
attempts to touch it or catch it. If "It" touches or catches the ball,
the last player who touched it is "It." The ball may be passed across
the circle at random or to the next player in either direction.
Variation--Fill The Gap
One player
walks around
outside the circle, taps another player on the back. Both race around
the
circle in opposite directions. The player that fails to "fill" the
gap continues the game.
28. Chair Basketball
Prep &
Props: 1 chair per person; 1 set of
headbands for
one team; inflated round balloons;
Divide the
group into two
teams. One team wears headbands. Teams sit on chairs a few feet apart
forming a
circle and alternating members of each team (i.e. red team member, blue
team
member, red team member, etc.)
The
players must remain
seated throughout the entire game. The game begins with the placing of
a
balloon between the two teams. The object of the game is for both teams
to
attempt to pass the balloon from one team member to another to the end
chair,
where one member of their team is holding his arms in a circular
fashion
(similar to a basketball hoop). The team who scores the most hoops in a
given
period of time wins.
29.
Channel Tag
Prep &
Props: ball or balloon
All
players in circle face
to the right, standing in straddle position.
Ball is passed between legs from player to player, either
forward or
backward, in attempt to keep it away from "It," who is in the center
of the circle.
30. Crazy Relays
Prep &
Props: Inflated balloons, per each team, a
potato,
broom, paper towel tube, paper cup, straws for each player.
1. Go down and back tapping a balloon and keeping it in the air. If it
hits the
floor, pick it up and continue.
2. Walk down and back with a potato between your knees. If it falls,
pick it up
and put it back between your knees and continue.
3. Trot backwards, flapping your arms.
4. Using a broom, sweep a paper towel tube down and back.
5. Place an empty paper cup over a straw and place the straw in your
mouth. Go
down and back keeping the cup on the straw and the straw in your mouth.
6. Clasp your ankles with your hands and keeping them there, go down
and back.
