11. Balloon Crab Ball

Prep & Props:  A supply of inflated balloons

Establish two goal lines, 40 inches apart. Divide the players into two teams and have them sit on the goal lines facing each other with their arms extended backward to support their bodies off the floor. Place a balloon on the floor midway between the goals.

On signal, have both teams move toward the balloon, keeping the crab position described, and attempt to kick the balloon over the opposing goal. They may kick it with one foot or drop to a sitting position and use both feet. Players must not stand up and run or move in any other position than the one described. They are not to touch the balloon with their hands. Teams should keep some players back to defend their goal and send others forward to drive the balloon over their opponent's goal. When the balloon goes out of bounds, it is put in play by the referee at the point it went out. Touching the balloon with the hand, leaving the crab position and unnecessary roughness in kicking, striking, or shoving an opponent are fouls. The penalty is a free kick for the other side where the foul occurred. Have all opposing players 6 feet away at the time of the free kick. Score 1 point each time a team kicks the balloon over the goal. The first to score 10 points wins

12. Balloon Football

Prep & Props:  A supply of inflated balloons

The Players form two teams and sit on the floor facing each other, their legs stretched out so that their feet almost touch those of the player opposite. Two Players are chosen as goalkeepers and stand one behind each team. The leader throws a balloon into play and each team endeavors to pat the balloon over the heads of the opposing team. A goal is scored when the balloon touches the ground on the opponent's side. After a while the leader throws in a second balloon and then a third and the game becomes increasingly difficult. The team with the most goals is the winner

13. Balloon Jam

Prep & Props:  each team needs a suitcase and an equal number of blown-up balloons; the referee needs a stopwatch (or a watch with a second hand) to time the game.
Divide into 2 even teams.
You have 60 seconds to fill a suitcase with as many balloons as you can.
At the end of the 60 seconds, you have to shut the suitcase. Be careful of everyone's fingers when you shut the suitcase! If any of the balloons pop when you shut the suitcase, then they don't count.
Now open the suitcases and count the balloons.
The team with the most balloons in their suitcase is the winner

Variation: Include helium filled balloons. They are worth bonus points.

14. Balloon-Popping Contest

Prep & Props:  Fully inflated balloons in two bags, starting whistle or bell.
Divide guests into two equal groups. About 25 yards away place two bags of inflated balloons in colors to match your theme colors. These balloons should be over-inflated to make popping easier. At the sound of a ringing bell or whistle, the first two relay contestants, one from each team, run to the bag, and remove one balloon. Each must sit on it until it pops. Once the balloon pops, the players run back to the starting line, and tag the next player in line. The first team to complete the course wins. Not a quiet game, but a guaranteed hit.

15. Balloon Stuff Game

Prep & Props:  Each team needs a bag of uninflated balloons and and oversized pair of pants and a shirt.
Teams are made by dividing the party guests (more than two teams will
work fine). Each team is handed a few bags of balloons and a bag that
contains a large shirt and pair of pants.

Each team chooses a person in their group to put on the clothes, the
rest of the team will be blowing up the balloons. When the
"facilitator" says "GO !" each team begins to blow up the balloons and
the designated person/volunteer pulls on the large clothes. When the
person is "dressed", teammates begin to stuff the inflated balloons in
the shirt and pants as fast as they can. Some balloons will pop.
After a predetermined period of time has expired, everyone must stop
stuffing balloons in the shirt and pants.

The winning team is the one that has the most balloons stuffed into
their "volunteer's" clothing. When played with adults, some
balloons in the shirts aren't popped until last. Your volunteer will go
from looking like the Michelin Man to a well-developed Barbie doll.
(One warning: the volunteer should have clothing that covers most of
their skin because when the balloons are popped against bare
skin, they sting terribly.) I have played this game with children; however, the balloons were inflated for them and poured all over the floor

16. Balloon Tower

Prep & Props:  About 20 uninflated balloons per person, Plenty of tape, Stopwatch or timer, Tape Measure

This is a great game both for teambuilding and just for fun.

Separate players into, preferably, 3 or more teams of about 3-10 persons each. Each team is given a pile of uninflated balloons and a few rolls of clear tape.

Instruct the teams that they are to build the largest freestanding balloon tower possible in a certain amount of time. Give no further restrictions on the game.

Start the clock, and everyone begins building the towers.

When time is called, look at the towers (measure if necessary) and declare whose tower is tallest.

You can shock (and slightly annoy) the players by suggesting that it would not have been against the rules to combine resources with each other to make a much taller tower.

Note on location: Be advised that carpet works quite well, but surfaces like concrete tend to pop the balloons. Experiment ahead of time to make sure the surface is satisfactory

17. Balloon People Squirt-Off

Prep & Props:  Cut out foot shapes from pieces of sturdy cardboard, inflated balloons, shaving cream, water pistols, water.

Slide the knot of an inflated balloon into slits cut into the cardboard so that balloons stand up.

Let guests decorate the balloons with shaving cream or whipped cream. Give each person a heavy-duty water pistol and have a race to see who can squirt off the cream first

18. Balloon Push-Ball

Prep & Props:  Inflated balloons

Divide the group into two teams and station them at opposite ends of the room. Toss a balloon up in the centre of the room and have the teams rush for it. Each tries to bat it to the other team's wall. The first team to hit the balloon against the opposite wall wins. In case the balloon is broken, throw another in without allowing the play to lag.

Variation: Have a Player from each team standing at opposite ends of the room as a goalkeeper. Each team tries to pat the balloon to their own goalkeeper, who breaks it by sitting on it. A point is scored with each broken balloon.

19. Balloon Volleyball

Prep & Props:  String, inflated balloons, sheet

In this game players divided into two teams try to score goals by

hitting a balloon over a piece of string held taut by two people standing

on chairs. Like proper volleyball, a point is scored if one team is unable

to return the balloon over the string or if it lands on the floor. The

team that wins a point serves the balloon back into play.

To make the game harder, a rule can be made that each team is

allowed to hit the balloon only two times before returning it over the

string. The winning team is the one that scores the most points within a

set period of time.

Variation: Tell the players not to use their hands - just their heads. Put a blanket over the string and play the game 'blind'. Throw in two or three balloons to make the game interesting.

20. Balloons on the Wall

Prep & Props:  inflated balloons

This game can be played either on a team or on an individual basis. A large pile of balloons is assembled in the centre of the room and each player or team is allocated an area of wall. On the word 'Go!' each player takes a balloon, rubs it on his or her clothing to create a static charge and attempts to stick it on his or her area of wall. If the balloon sticks then the player can try it with another one. After a certain period of time the game is stopped and the team or player with the most balloons on its patch of wall is the winner.
